The current state accountability system rates campuses and districts on academic performance within three different domains: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps. Based upon student academic performance within the different domains, campuses and districts receive a raw score, which is then converted into a Scaled Score and eventually a letter grade (A-F). In addition to the score, campuses also have an opportunity to earn separate Distinction Designations, including those in Reading Language Arts/RLA, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Postsecondary Readiness, and Comparative Closing the Gaps. Districts are also eligible to receive the Postsecondary Readiness Distinction.
No A–F ratings, domain scaled scores, or overall scaled scores were assigned over the two years that all districts and campuses were labeled “Not Rated: Declared State of Disaster” due to the pandemic. 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.
Vanguard Academy is comprised of three full-scale campuses PK-3 to 12th grade Vanguard Academy Beethoven in Edinburg, Vanguard Academy Mozart in Alamo, and Vanguard Academy Rembrandt in Pharr as well as two growing elementary schools Vanguard Picasso in Pharr and Vanguard Monet in Mission, and an elementary/secondary campus Vanguard Academy Van Gogh in Pharr, opening 9th grade in Fall 2024.
