Mozart Secondary staff surprise Valedictorian and Salutatorian students with home visit!

Dr. Narciso Garcia, Superintendent of Vanguard Academy Charter School, along with Principal, Sandra Y. Cabrera  and all the teachers and staff of Vanguard Mozart Secondary visited the top two graduating seniors in their homes on Monday, May 11, 2020. They surprised the Valedictorian, Jesus A. Eguia and Salutatorian, Axael D.Hernandez with a parade, plaque, gift basket and balloons.

The students received this very special surprise in recognition for their accomplishments at Mozart Secondary. It was a bittersweet moment due to the fact that this will be the first graduating class for Mozart Secondary, and the students could not be recognized at school.

Both students have been active members of various clubs and organizations such as the National Honor Society, Robotics, DECA, Mariachi, Chess Club and Art Club while balancing their academic responsibilities and pursuing Associate Degrees AT South Texas College.

Jesus A. Eguia will be graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering with a focus in the field of Civil Engineering Management. He will attend the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and major in Civil Engineering Management.

Axael D. Hernandez will be graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and will attend the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and major in Computer Science.

We want to recognize these students for their accomplishments and congratulate them. We wish them the best as they continue their educational careers and remind them that their Mozart Secondary Family will always be here to support them.
