Vanguard Academy Students from Mozart Secondary and Rembrandt Secondary obtain many awards at the DECA Regional Competition

Vanguard Academy students had the opportunity to participate in DECA’s District 1 Competition held at the McAllen Convention Center on Thursday, January 17th. 

A total of 46 Vanguard Academy students earned this award and will be representing our school in Dallas, Texas in February. 37 students from Vanguard Rembrandt Secondary under the guidance of DECA Advisor, Libia Quintero and Enrique Quintero and 9 students under the guidance of DECA Advisor, Karen Sanchez from Vanguard Mozart.

DECA is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Students take part in the organization’s competitive events program, allowing them to compete for local and regional titles. The competitions are designed to simulate real-life business scenarios and test students’ academic understanding and skills development. Top DECA District winners get an opportunity to advance and represent the DECA District 1 area as they continue to put their talents and knowledge at the DECA’s State level Competition.
