Did your child receive free or reduced-price school meals through the National School Lunch Program during the 2019-2020 school year? If so, your family may be eligible for P-EBT benefits to buy food. Apply by June 30, 2020. Eligible families should have received the application link from their school. Eligible families that received SNAP benefits for March have already received P-EBT benefits and do not have to apply. If you did not receive an application link or have questions about the program, please contact the P-EBT Call Center at 833-613-6220 Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and school closures, the state of Texas received approval from the US Department of Agriculture to provide more than $1 Billion in Pandemic Food Benefit (PEBT), to families with children who lost access to school meals.
 
In the summer of 2019 Vanguard Academy applied for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) federal program that would allow all students of our Charter School to receive free lunch, breakfast, and snack. For the 2019-2020 school year, Vanguard Academy provided free meals to all students and we are pleased to inform you that all Vanguard Academy families are eligible to receive the benefit of $285 for each student up to 21 years old regardless of family income.
 

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a one-time food benefit for families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures. Eligible P-EBT families will receive application instructions from schools in late May. The P-EBT application will open the first week of June.
