Mission, Texas – Vanguard Academy is excited to announce a new partnership with the Hidalgo County Head Start Program, marking an important step in expanding educational opportunities for young learners and their families throughout the community.
As part of this new collaboration, the former Camarena campus will be renamed Palmview Head Start Academy beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. The new name reflects a shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and preparing students for lifelong success.
Through this partnership, Palmview Head Start Academy and Vanguard Academy will work together to create a seamless educational experience that supports students from their earliest years through college preparation and beyond. Both organizations are united by a commitment to academic excellence, strong character development, and high expectations for every child.

Palmview Head Start Academy will continue providing the comprehensive early childhood services and individualized support that families have long valued. Highly qualified, TEA-certified Head Start teachers will remain at the forefront of instruction, ensuring students receive a strong educational foundation in a nurturing and supportive environment.
The partnership reflects both organizations' dedication to creating innovative learning opportunities that promote student achievement and school readiness. By combining resources and expertise, Palmview Head Start Academy and Vanguard Academy aim to provide students with engaging educational experiences that prepare them for success in school, college, careers, and life.
To celebrate this exciting new chapter, Vanguard Academy and Hidalgo County Head Start invite families to attend a Meet & Greet event on Wednesday, June 17, at 5:30 p.m. at Vanguard Monet Elementary School, located at 1020 Los Ebanos Road in Mission.
Families will have the opportunity to meet school leaders, learn more about the partnership, and explore the educational opportunities available to their children. As a special welcome, every student attending the event will receive a free Vanguard Academy uniform shirt.
