Ever wondered why Election Day always lands on a Tuesday in November? Back in the 1800s, most people were farmers who often had to travel a day or two to reach their polling place. November was chosen because harvest season was over, and Tuesday worked best since it didn’t interfere with church on Sunday or market day on Wednesday.
Pretty cool how tradition and practicality shaped our democracy! 🗳️

Meet Manuel Haro, a bright and dedicated 6th grader at Monet Elementary who proudly maintains an all “A” Honor Roll. Known for his kindness, strong faith, and positive attitude, Manuel has a passion for Math and a natural curiosity about how things work—especially cars.
Outside the classroom, he enjoys playing soccer with friends and demonstrates excellent teamwork both on and off the field. Manuel dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer and attending Dartmouth College, where he hopes to combine his love of learning and innovation to make the world a better place.

In preparation for the Lights On Afterschool celebration, students at Beethoven Secondary spent the week building an interactive light cube using RGB LEDs that responds to touch by lighting up in different colors. Afterschool programs like ACE are crucial because they provide students with opportunities to explore STEAM concepts beyond the classroom, develop critical thinking and collaboration skills, and engage in meaningful, real-world projects that inspire curiosity and innovation. Activities like the light cube project show how afterschool learning fosters both academic growth and personal development, preparing students for future success.
