This summer, 27 of our incredible Vanguard Spartans participated in the UTRGV Railway Summer Camp, where they explored the exciting world of engineering through hands-on learning, innovation, and teamwork!
Throughout the week, our students:
🔹 Built and coded robotic machines
🔹 Tested their creations on challenging courses
🔹 Collaborated to solve real-world engineering problems
🔹 Toured the UTRGV Engineering Lab and discovered future opportunities in STEM careers
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones to learn new skills and embrace new challenges.
Even more exciting, several of our Spartans were invited back to compete against students from neighboring districts, showcasing the skills and knowledge they developed during the camp!

At Vanguard Academy, we believe creativity is an essential part of every student's development. As a Charter School for the Fine Arts, we are proud to continue fostering artistic growth throughout the summer.
Our Character Strong Art Camp, open to students in grades 5–12, is focused on beautifying the Beethoven Elementary campus, with plans to expand these efforts to our other elementary campuses in the future. Through creativity, collaboration, and service, our students are making a lasting impact on their school community.
We are also excited to offer Dance Camp, where students can explore movement, build confidence, and express themselves through the performing arts.

Ms. Buentello stated that what inspired her to become a teacher was, "my love of literature inspired me to become a teacher. I wanted to bring this love of reading and writing to others, and the college advisor encouraged me to pursue teaching after graduation."

Vanguard Academy is excited to once again offer FREE summer meals for children in our community beginning next week! 💙☀️
Families are invited to take advantage of our Summer Feeding Program, providing nutritious breakfast and lunch meals throughout the summer. 🍎🥛

Erik becomes the first basketball player in Vanguard Beethoven history to earn a college athletic scholarship — an incredible milestone for our Gladiator family! 👏⚔️
This past season, Erik helped lead the Gladiators to the 31-3A District Championship and earned:
