Free Music Summer Camps By South Texas College

Vanguard Academy parents, students and staff,
South Texas College has a great opportunity for Fine Arts Students and has invited us to join them in Virtual Music Camps. Please encourage your children to register and participate.

The South Texas College Music Department will be offering Virtual Music Camps during the month of June. These camps are free for middle school and high school students.

• Virtual Guitar Camp includes: Guitar 1 for Middle School students (June 1 - 5) and Guitar 2 for High School students (June 8 - 12). The students must own their own guitar and have access to Zoom from their home. Assistant Professor Jaime Garcia will be the instructor.

• Virtual Fundamentals of Music Camp is for Middle School students (June 1 - 5) and instructs students in basic music theory. The course is taught by Assistant Professor Daniel Cather. Students must have access to Zoom from their home.

• Virtual Song Writing Camp is for High School students (June 8 -12) and instructs students in the art of song writing. The course is taught by Assistant Professor Daniel Cather. Students must have access to Zoom from their home.

• Virtual Region Etude Camp is for middle school and high school cello students who are looking for help preparing music for All-Region in the Fall. The course will be taught on each Friday of June by Patrick Hopkins and Tido Janssen.
